Descriptive sound cues for professional captions
Professional captions convey more than spoken words. The DCMP Captioning Key requires equivalents for non-dialogue audio that viewers need to understand a program, including sound effects, music, and audience reaction.
Recap can add descriptive sound cues automatically during transcription. Significant non-speech sounds appear as bracketed, lowercased cues such as [audience applauding] or [siren screaming], timed alongside dialogue and exported in every caption format.
- Enabled by default on upload and re-transcription
- Sound segments labeled in the transcript editor for quick review
- Editable timing and text before you publish to your video platform
- Supports DCMP-style professional captioning workflows
