Our Story
We saw that universities had thousands of videos and no path to compliance. While automated captioning had become commodity technology, audio descriptions remained a manual, expensive, and time-consuming process that simply couldn't scale to meet the needs of higher education.
We built the technology that makes audio descriptions in standard and extended modes as fast and affordable as captions. Our AI-powered platform can process thousands of videos simultaneously, delivering studio-quality audio descriptions in hours instead of weeks, and with hundreds of professional voices to choose from.
Our Founders
Scott Griffin
Co-Founder & CEO
Scott Griffin has multiple years of first-hand experience working as a manual human transcriptionist in university online-learning and remote education settings, and as a court interpreter and translator of the Cambodian/Khmer language. In addition to leading Recap Innovations, Scott has received training from Georgia Institute of Technology in Computer Science and Cybersecurity, where he has specialized in researching the intersection of AI voice technology and video accessibility across North American campuses. Scott brings a unique blend of industry knowledge and technical expertise to our innovative solutions, and has a deep passion for leveraging technology to enhance education.
Robert Nay
Co-Founder & CTO
Robert Nay is a software engineer who loves crafting web and mobile experiences that make a difference in people's lives. At the age of 15, Robert landed on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for developing a mobile game that rose to the #1 spot on the App Store and amassed over 16 million downloads. Robert speaks German and has also helped develop a mobile app to facilitate live, person-to-person translation through video calls.
